vivo & galore
Today i finally went to vivocity for the first time. :D
Well, my comments are that it's not as big as i expected and it's quite the typical of a normal US mall. (and maybe now i'm not marvelled why bert wants to go to the US so much cause we can actually really really do tons of shopping there haha!) Furthermore, i have a feeling that taka seems bigger but i guess vivocity is pretty nice in it's own way. One thing though, i think the air-conditioning system sucks as it really got terribly hot! >< But well, vivocity is indeed quite convenient, a half an hour trip away from my home so i guess i'll be doing some shopping there soon. Heehee..
So i watched Happy Feet today! It's a really nice, entertaining, heartwarming, action-packed show haha! It actually touched on a few themes that i would not really call themes but points you could actually look at when watching:
1. How we as humans are actualled called Aliens in the show. It really tells us to look at things from another perspective, we are calling those things we don't know as being alien to us yet those penguins are calling US aliens. Enlightening if you could actually look at this one further step.
2. The scarcity of food. Really shows us how we might have taken too many things for granted and indeed might have pushed several organisms to the brink of extinction. I am really quite glad the show brought up this theme.
3. How small we are. Cliche as it may be, from an angle you can actually pick out how small we are. How much do we know about the universe, i mean even though the show's main characters were penguins, it's quite realistic as to how we might actually be just a small character in the whole universe yet if we are indeed determined in what we are doing, we will make a difference.
4. Cute penguins! It just really showed us how cute baby penguins are. :D Awwww...
Haha, ok just some random thoughts la~ But overall, i think the shows a good one and entertaining, lasting a rather long 1hour 40minutes for an animation film. Definitely should go and watch! And i'm so going to go and buy the soundtrack for the show when i can, probably on wednesday or thursday. Want me to lend to you? Be nice. :D
Oh yea so we watched it in GV Max at vivocity. The biggest cinema there and i must admit it really is quite big. Somewhat's on par with Lido 1 i think. Well, i think The Cathay's seats are more comfortable cause of that little 'reclining' feature of sorts which is not really reclinable la but at least the seats are not fixed so when you lean back you can sort of lean back a bit more. Ok if it's making sense good for you, if not too bad ;) So i think i'd still stick to watching movies at the cathay. ;) But definitely, i'll go to vivocity to walk around sometime soon again, i wanan check out the bookstore called pageone or something, looks pretty kinokuniya-ish and somewhere i would really wanna go! Haha!
So yea, now that i look at it, i realize how convenient my home is, or rather at least it is QUITE convenient. NS and NE lines are at most half an hour by public transport away, not say it's damn far but at least its close to the more central lines. I can almost get to anywhere on the island within an hour tops. I can get to vivocity in, 30-40 minutes if the public transport system is happy with me! and to dhoby in 20-25! Wow. I actually think i'm going to ask my mum to drop me off at Serangoon station next time if i were to make my way to orchard or somerset. Hm lemme count:
Serangoon to dhoby - 11minutes
Dhoby - Somerset - Orchard - 5 mins?
Actually nah, forget it. I'll just stick to being dropped off at bishan and taking a straight train down to orchard haha! More convenient.
Sososo, tomorrow i shall just stay at home and wander around, play piano, do theory i guess and maybe i'll ask my mum to go junction 8 for lunch then i can go buy my CD :D Haha! I wonder what else i should do hm.. Oh yes..
GOOD LUCK BONG FOR PIANO EXAM TOMORROW! and to JUNWEI TOO! (who's taking sometime soon like on the 8th) Hm, i perfectly know how well it sucks and panicky it is to take a piano exam but i guess, it's part of life in that sense. Hahah! Pass or fail, just an experience, 10 years down the road, no one's really going to bother about it and we can all just share it with others. Oh ya one more thing....
THANKS ZHIYANG for giving us that nice smacking sweet discount and helping us cut queue at Candy Empire where i bought tons of nice sweets home. I really hope he doesn't get fired for that hehe. For now, i shall prepare to get fat soon >< Ok not, i'm determined to go and run with elton sometime soon, ok no one heard that. Maybe i will..... Heeheee -sniggers- Candy Empire really has tons of nice food/sweets/snacks there, the perfect recipe for anyone who wants to get fat. Lalala~
Imma go brush teeth and blog hop around before i go to sleep. Laters~
